On land ownership

I recently wrote about wanting to own property. Closing up on my 30 years of age, I am happy to say that I made the move and bought my first chunk of earth. It's about 2 acres of cleared land somewhere in the Mediterranean coast of Turkiye.

I feel proud of achieving one of my goals in life. I always wanted to own property and live a more natural life style. This first step towards that goal unlocks a whole bunch of new challenges and goals. With the world going in a direction that might not be favorable for most, I feel more secure now.

Slowly building up that off grid haven, protected from the outside world. Even though it's questionable how protected it would be from natural disasters or climate change, it's at least going to be protected from a nuclear fall out. Is that wishful thinking? I don't think anybody wants to be where we are and nobody has any reason to target that location. Maybe this is too bleak to think about on such a momentous occasion in life. It's sad that these thoughts hover over us even on our happiest moments.

So off we go on a new adventure. Where we can build our nest in the woods as a family.
